Waiting now...

Some of the kids might give impact statements....they have a comfort dog there in court with them right now but are not shown on tv of course.

Mrs T is appearing now on tv in court, smiling! and looking like a PTA mom that she is NOT.

Husband still has the weird bowl haircut.

Attorney on tv HLN thinks they'll get 25 to life but we'll see...

Kids now giving impact statements....

both parents in tears as one speaks...
oddly the kid states he's praying for them and he appreciates them raising him even though it was the wrong way. He states he loves them very much...

First time I've seen parents emotional. The mom is sobbing as one kid tries to explain why they were chained up at times....because mom felt the kids were getting too much sugar. All the kids are positive about the parents...one states 25 years is too long a sentence....wants to be allowed to see and talk with parents while incarcerated.

Very interesting how they are standing up so strong for the couple.

Ha, maybe not...at least they are acknowledging some of the abuse
but are overall defending parents...

This seems to be the big picture: the children (like almost all children) want to interact with their parents.

The attorneys have asked them what they want, and when they say that they want a lesser sentence, it's likely they were encouraged to write statements recalling the positive times.

Because the children's lawyers have to advocate for the wishes - not necessarily best interests - of their clients.

Attorney reading father's statement...actually he's kinda pitiful....he's now stating how much he loves them and never meant to do them any harm.

Now mom is reading her statement....sorry for everything she's done to hurt kids...loves them very much...proud of them...she's truly sorry...
