Sadly far too many western women don’t believe or don’t know about how Islamic men from Islamic countries treat women, especially western women and their daughters. When courting the women they are great at selling themselves to these women. Once married they begin to revert back to their true nature, especially if they’re now living back in their home country. Now the woman and daughters aren’t merely their wife and daughters, they’re now his personal property subject to Islamic laws and local cultures which puts them in a slave like life compared to the western world they originated from. If the wife is in a western country and the daughters are in the Islamic then the Islamic country will fight tooth and nail to prevent the daughters from leaving to live with their mother. The only way out is through a secret operation to abduct and secret out the girls and even then the girls are so brainwashed they have to go through a deprograming. Because their mother was not muslim and was western, the daughters suffer verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her own relatives taking out their hatred of western cultures and countries on the girls they’re related to.

Can you really feel sorry for any woman too damn stupid to move to Saudi Arabia and NOT expect to be completely screwed over like this?
I feel sorry for her, but she also has to live with the results of a hateful, sexist legal system that she voluntarily agreed to abide by.

I think the moral of the story is don't move to Saudi Arabia. Everyone knows what womens' rights are like over there so unless you're willing to put up with the consequences, don't go there. They also behead spiritual folk for being witches.

Actually I just read another article about it, and apparently he didn’t get custody either (apparently he smokes a lot of hash and pot) Her mother in law was awarded custody, although she lives with her son so he still has him.

“In the end, the judge found both parents unfit to raise Zeina, awarding custody instead to Ms. Vierra’s former mother-in-law.”

More from this article:

Quote:
Under Saudi law, which is based on Islamic law or Shariah, mothers generally retain day-to-day custody of sons until they turn 9, and daughters until they turn 7, while fathers remain their legal guardians. The kingdom announced last year that Saudi mothers could keep custody of children after a divorce without having to file a lawsuit, as they had previously had to do, unless the father was contesting custody.

But Saudi courts prioritize ensuring that children are raised in accordance with Islam. According to court documents, the judge accepted Ms. Vierra’s ex-husband’s arguments that she was unfit to raise Zeina because she was a Westerner, and furthermore, because she ran her own business, a yoga studio, leaving her with little time to devote to her child.

“Since the mother is new to Islam and a foreigner in this country and embraces customs and traditions in the way she was raised,” the judge wrote in his ruling, “we must avoid exposing Zeina to these traditions.”
Damn. Talk about a wicked, backward ruling.
