R.I.P.

I am a liberal and I would never want to hurt someone who is successful. This guy was a horrible, evil and vile person. I cannot imagine how someone could ever do something like this to anyone, let alone an elderly woman. It has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with a very sick mind.

Sadly, no psycho, developmental disorder, or drugs required for violent crime.

I know it would make us feel better to explain this away, but tons of violent robberies, domestic assaults, rapes, etc, happen...and those guys aren't all crazy or drugged.
They just don't care about other people.

You got it! I've given out too much rep in the last 24 hours so here's yours. :-)

I'm pro-defending one's self, but a gun wouldn't have helped in this situation.

Who expects to be attacked by an appliance delivery man?

True - unless she's carrying her gun with her 24/7 it probably wouldn't have helped in this situation. It's sad that this is how the poor woman had to leave this earth.

Turn it around??! He was only 21! He'd only barely begun to live it!

And she'd only just retired the year before. Apparently, she was doing well at her age. Probably had another good 20 years left in her.

Wouldn't have done her any good. This was such a surprise attack, she never had a chance to run grab a gun. For all we know, she had one in the house. Could've been right there in a kitchen drawer. Could still be right there, now.

Not saying this is a certainty - but my guess is that this guy has something else going on in addition to drug abuse. FAS is also associated with low intelligence, poor memory, and poor impulse control. Perhaps the lady asked him to do something like make sure the newly delivered items were arranged correctly -side by side, without a space between them (since we know there WAS such a space, as her glasses were found wedged there) and he took it as personal criticism - and lost it.
He doesn't really have any of the other facial features though.

He could also just be a piece of garbage without any reasoning behind it.
