I'm gonna guess he demanded she tell him where she kept her money and jewelry. She refused. So he hit her with a mallet. Too hard, as it turned out.

It's a good reminder for elderly people to have someone else with them if they're expecting an appliance delivery or a workman they're unfamiliar with.

Good heavens, that could have been me. Old, female, single, and just had a washer/dryer set delivered from Best Buy 2 weeks ago. However, mine were delivered in their own truck. I would be suspicious if it was another delivery company because here, at least, Best Buy delivers and installs their own stock. Of course, their own people could be murderers as well. That poor woman.

If you see some of the “delivery” people that come to deliver....you wouldn’t open the door if you didn’t see the box box van.
