I keep waiting for an update.

Who was this baby? Surely, not her own.

Best guess, an illegal adoption.

Obviously not someone to contract with to traffic/sell infants to! Stuffing it in a carryon that will be screened/scanned? Not even attempting to fabricate documents? Really?

Another thing is the age of the newborn. Airlines have restrictions for the minimum age of an infant (for medical reasons). I believe that for most airlines a baby needs to be at least two weeks old and some airlines require an infant to be at least a month old.

A friend of mine adopted a baby (legally), from another state, and took the baby home on an airplane when it was only (I believe) four days old. They lied to the airline about the infants age. Luckily, the infant did not have any problems but, IMHO, it was pretty risky.

The story I read said they caught her at the gate, so it sounds like she got it through security??? That has to be incorrect.

That can cost between $5000 and $50,000. Someone may be out of some money.

Here's a little more information but it still isn't all that clear what happened. Did the mother sell the baby?

Did the woman with the baby steal her, hoping to sell her?

I imagine this happens all the time at ground borders, but the Philippines doesn't have any of those. Nobody ever unzips my bag on the ground.

Dumb lady, I bet if it had been in her arms and she had a pleasant smile like
a glowing mom, all would be fine. No?
