This will only last until the rats have seen what happens to their friends. I don't see one whit of difference between this and traditional rat traps, except this looks different. The rats will have this figured out by the end of the business week.

Someone is making a lot of money selling those. I made a similar trap myself with a large plastic tub, and a hunk of 2" PVC pipe on a dowel, and a board to climb up. They jump onto the pipe, baited with peanut butter, it spins on the dowel and they fall into the water and can't get out. Unfortunately (for them) it also works on Squirrels.

Bucket and water mouse or rat traps have been around for hundreds of years in various forms. Nothing new to see here folks. You can ask farmers, exterminators and others round world and each will have a favorite type.
Difference here is instead of water guy is using booze, but principles remain same. Some use anti-freeze as well.
