I'm pretty sure I would have caught on, but nevertheless, a quirky but humorous story.

Quote:
Caelie Wilkes was proud she had successfully cared for her succulent for about two years — after all, she had accidentally killed a similar plant in the past.

This time, after getting the plant as a gift, she looked up how to properly care for it. She regularly watered the succulent; when others tried to help, she became protective, fearing they would overwater it.

It seemed to pay off; the plant always looked amazing. Rejuvenated by the success of her first plant, Wilkes — a mother of two from Willits, California, northwest of Sacramento — started accumulating more.

I can’t help but be reminded of this scene from the office. It sounds like she and Kevin would be a good match!

My dad did that. I gave my mom a little ceramic pot with a fake plant with a purple flower in it when she was in the hospital. When she was home from the hospital, my dad showed me the plant and said he'd been taking good care of it and the flower was still blooming. I thought he was kidding at first. But he was serious.

I don't understand it, but I've done my share of stupid things too. At least she can laugh at herself along with everyone else.

I once installed gutters on this woman's house and she had a plastic cactus that was over two feet high on her window sill, it looked real to me. Her cat sat in the window staring at it. He might have been plastic too.
