Yes, it reminds me of the guy in Alaska who thought he and the grizzlies had some kind of spiritual union and finally was killed by them (along with his gf, who wanted nothing to do with the bears herself). There was a documentary about him as he documented his entire journey through Alaska to bond with the bears. It was really so odd, as I thought he'd be some outdoorsy type, but he was effeminate, and he talked to the bears in baby talk ("Who was a naughty little boy?" kind of stuff.
I enjoyed that documentary and I feel bad for him. I can totally understand that he felt safe and at peace with the grizzlies even though it led to him getting eaten by one.
The average poster probably thinks some company called Darwin, Inc., is simply the sponsor of the so-called Darwin Award. And I'm pretty sure most of them haven't the foggiest idea as to concepts like gene pool or natural selection.
They deserve it. It's ridiculous. Every thread. People pop on 5 pages in and go "Darwin Award!!!" like they're not the 6th person already to come up with that oh, so clever and original response". I hate it personally because to me its just a way to mock the person who was killed and feel superior to them.

No, it's not. No one is mocking the victim. They are mocking the perp. People ARE feeling superior to that perp, usually with good reason. Most of us are not that stupid. I hope.
Then if the lion attacked her it will be destroyed. I think it’s awful of her doing that and all those people laughing are jerks as well. This isn’t a joke. That poor animal.

This is what happens when the beavis and butthead generation or the teenagers who post stupid things on social media grow up and continue their adolescence. They don't think things through and don't foresee the consequences of their actions. You want to pull some idiotic stunt for Instagram, then just involve yourself. Don't put others, including animals, at risk. Lions are very territorial. If that moat wasn't there, she would have been mauled. Lions would not see any of her actions as humorous. Stressing the lion alone, should have consequences. She wasn't mentally ill like that guy who climbed into the polar bear exhibit in Central Park 40 years ago. She was just stupid and the consequences should be severe enough that her big stupid smile is wiped from her face. Make her clean all of the animal enclosures (in all weather) for one year in the zoo.

I'm pretty sure it would make a for good story line for that show; fairly consistent with their 'another Great Idea' theme.
