I've done it before for a little less than a year. Got a little dicey sometimes in downtown Denver but I made it out in one piece. Being stuck in the middle of Broadway in traffic was the best (scarriest?).

I was never in better shape, that's for sure.

"Sharing the road" is a two way street, some cyclists give motorists a hard time too. Nothing pisses me off more than coming up on group of cyclists 2 or 3 abreast making it impossible to safely pass them. I used to ride all the time in my younger years and was always courteous to motorists moving as far to the right as possible and traveling single file.

That does get frustrating when they do that! It's as if they think that there is power in numbers and that if 3 or 4 of them are in the middle of the road they can't get run over lol
But, I usually dont encounter that very often ..and if I do I just honk

As an avid cyclist I'll be the last to say that all cyclist are well behaved on the road. However, drivers ,having the weight advantage, must be aware of dumb cyclist that have no road manners.

If there were bike routes like my hometown I'd never own a car

I'll ride to the bus if the weather is nice and the bike has a motor.

You need the space to do that though, ideally 100 years ago towns and cities would have been layed out with broader streets and sidewalks.

Boston just happened. No planning involved. I would never ride in Boston or NYC.

I know this isn't a car thread but the Honda civic hybrids actually get better reviews and have higher resale values than the prius. But the prius is more trendy and popular, so there's that.

We bike quite a bit. We didn't start biking to be "green", we just like to bike for fun and for the exercise. It's something we enjoy doing as a family. Where we live we have a lot of bike lanes, bike trails, and fun woodsy paths so it's just something a lot of people do here. It's often easier and quicker to get where you want to go by bike than it is to drive as there are more bike bridges across the river that divides our city than there are vehicle bridges.
