Would a Hybrid Road Bike be okay to get if I want to use it for a Duathlon?

I am looking at the Fuji Hybrid bikes. I don't have tons of money to spend on a bike so that is a big factor.

I just wondered if the Fuji bikes were any good and if it would meet my need to compete in a race like that.

Thanks so much!

Duathlon is an athletic event that consists of a running leg, followed by a cycling leg and then another running leg in a format bearing some resemblance to triathlons. The International Triathlon Union governs the sport internationally.[1]

Really? It's a tri with no swim oh and

Anyway, check Craigslist or local adds for some deals. Have you been fitted yet? Bike sizing is a MUST for riding a lot of hours. You'll quickly get over using anything but a road/tri bike in events as you'll be one of the few on one.

Well...I hate swimming...putting that little cap on my head...lol.

It's not going to be my main focus though so I have to think of that. I will mostly ride around town... paved trails...stuff like that. Throw in a race but not sure how often. I'm mostly a runner so this would be something new

Any bike but a Cruiser will do for your needs so just find a good used bike (Note: you may change your mind about the bike later so used it better/cheaper.) that you like and buy it.

Don't be so fricking rude, dude. YOU ASK US (ME) FOR ADVICE DIDN'T YOU?

Yes, I know bikes since they've been a hobby since 1962 of mine. Built and sold more bikes than many riders have ridden.

If you are going to possibly do this once and done then I'd see if I could borrow a bike. There are even rentals if you live in a larger metro area but I'd want to be more in sync with my ride than that.
