Hey folks, looking for suggestions on a way to transport my bike on the car. The roof racks can be challenging because of the height of the rook and then the size of the bike. Are there good models to put off the back of SUV's that hold the bike (s) in place without scotching up the car or bikes themselves? If so, what brand or models have worked best for you?

I have a roof rack and a trunk rack but many of my cycling buddies have hitch racks. They are awesome. easy to get on, secure, less wind resistance than roof rack, no danger of smacking the bike when pulling into the garage, etc. If I were looking for a way to trasport my ride/s I would get a hitch rack.

I would think any of the well known high quality brands would work well - Thule, Saris, etc.

I have this one - Yakima HoldUp 2" hitch Bike Rack, which is a hitch mounted rack that holds on to the wheels instead of the frame. It's great if you have a variety of bike styles, especially full suspension mountain bikes that have a weird top tube. It's really secure, and you can expand it to 4 bikes with an add-on (the standard holds 2 bikes). Also, it has a bottle opener for an after-ride adult beverage.

How long have you been at this...don't you know you need nothing but an SPD pedal?

I bow down to your superior (and highly convenient) beverage technology...
