Ebikes (pedalec) is the fastest growing segment of the global transportation market. Bosch, Brose, Panasonic, Yamaha, Shimano and others are expecting huge growth. Bigger bike brands are introducing models but with integrated systems starting around $5K.

Until they invent high power capacity batteries better than LiPo, I don't think electric bike will catch on.

I rode a 1000W mid-drive "luna" system for two hours hardcore technical off-road and only used 1/3 or less of the battery. Granted they may not have impressive performance on paper, it real life they are pretty amazing for an assisted bicycle. I think the price in the barrier. That will change.
