When we go to the beach as a once a week thing she does get a soapy bath. Since we are going to go every morning she just got hosed off when we got home. Shadow has some skin issues, so she will still be getting a soapy bath once a week. She was very confused this morning when I just hosed her off & then reached for her towel, but she played along.

We used to drive down to the dog beach, but it is 45 minutes away and gas just plain old costs too much these days. We have poked around and found some dog friendly places a lot closer (just not as much fun). Our new spot is next to the public boat launch. It is on a brackish river. Shadow hates any kind of waves, so it is a good spot for her. There are some nice shade trees and a few picnic tables. Boaters must get up much earlier than we do because while I see a bunch of boat trailers I have never actually seen anyone putting in while we are there. We have a back up spot that is part of an estuary on a different part of the river. I don't like that spot as much, but Shadow loves it. We can get to both of these spots in 10 minutes or less. 15 minutes away is the spot where Hernando Desoto first landed here in FL, and there is a nice park with a beach there that is dog friendly, but there are a lot people that go there.

Bet you can find a place to take Ralph.

I don't go to the beach very often. Every time I go, and get myself comfortable laying in the sand, those people from Greenpeace keep trying to roll me back into the water. It's really annoying.

I did two miles this afternoon. The comeback continues ...

No can do, Evey, I'll try later.
I had to look up brackish, my husband-who is a boat person, big time-always says it about something he thinks is nasty. For example, one night, he got up in a sleepwalking stupor and walked in to the bathroom. I heard this crinkling kind of noise and went to investigate-he opened a packet of Alka-Seltzer, and took a BITE out of one, spit it out and proclaimed ''that was kinda brackish!"

After getting a pretty late start, I did about a half an hour of cardio type stuff and some regular ones for like, my batwings and upper arm/shoulder area. I need to find a good exercise for the area right on the back of the shoulder joint area-it just feels bony.

Oh, Charley, I think we should start calling you The Comeback Kid! It's great that you're feeling better, and getting back to working toward your goal!

Have a good day everyone!

Good one, Charley! I'm in rep limbo, too, otherwise I would have!

We went to the beach for the first time since we moved here. It only took us 11 months! It was nice. Windy, but nice.
