My horse is a confirmed dog hater! He is one of 3 horses in the barn that will go out of his way to attack a dog. He has been getting better about her when I am riding as she mostly follows along behind him. When I am not on him he is forever trying to bite her. She thinks this is playing and will stand in front of him and aggravate him as much as she can.
When I was in high school my best friend had a horse that I used to ride sometimes and he just loved cats. One day while they were exterminating at my house we took our cat with us to the barn. She rode with me and seemed to enjoy being nuzzled and breathed on.
