Default Tuesday's "This is why I should eat out all the time " exercise thread

morning ladies

I am typing this with only my right hand and ring finger of my left hand

Last night I figured I should make hubby a nice dinner because he was so good about having the crazy pee machine puppy here for the weekend
So I planned on homemade chicken fingers and creamy chicken rice

the creamy chicken rice is cream of chicken soup/chicken stock & rice all mixed in the dutchoven & baked in the oven at 425
I took it out halfway through to give it a stir
and I guess I got distracted and tried to pick up the lid forgetting it had just come out of a 425 degree oven !!!

next thing you know I am yelling go get me a piece of aloe
yup burned the crap out of the first 2 fingers, palm and thumb of my left hand you could see the blisters immediately

I had it in a bowl of water with ice and when I would take it out the pain had me in tears

Hubby slathered it with neosporin and ran to the drug store to get more and guaze the pharmacist said the fact that it blistered right away was a good thing

good thing I had pain medicine left from the dental drama

So now I am all bandaged with just the last 2 fingers showing and realized how hard it is to do things with just one hand

Well I better get ready for school might drive the 4 runner since shifting might be a tad difficult

What does your day look like ?

Oh, ouch!! The worst thing about a burn is that the pain can seem to come from within, so topical stuff doesn't always help a lot. I hope it feels better soon. That blister will dry up and peel off before you know it.

I'm on Week 2 of my Sofa to 5K regimen. Ran 1.5 miles in 15m 15s. I took yesterday as my rest day but am itching to get back to it. I am so close to my next milestone (40 lbs lost), and I want to see those numbers.

Have a great day, everyone!

Oh Karla, you poor thing! I hope you feel better soon. Burns of any size are no fun.

JJ... OUTSTANDING!! Keep up the good work.

I'm heading to the greenhouse this morning. It's going to be 73 outside, so you can imagine what the temps are going to be like inside with the flowers!!! Smoking! It's like a glorified sauna

I'll be walking after I get home (if the storm doesn't hit early).

Take care of that hand Karla, and hopefully everyone else will have a good day.

G'morning, all.

Karla, So sorry to hear you pulled a Pattie and hurt yourself like that. Not fun at all.

JJ, so proud of you, girl! KEep on goin!

Just got in from my outdoor sauna. It's only 75, but the humidity is crazy. My legs were sweating! Anyway...1.5 hours of weeding and other outdoor stuff. Only other thing I'd like to get done is the kitchen floor, but I think that can wait till my shower's done. Cuz Hubby's comin' home tonight! Woohoo!

Catch y'all later.

Morning peeps!

Ouch Karla! I have had a few burns, they are no fun. I have almost eliminated cooking related burns since I got a pair of Ov-gloves. Other than that I keep a tube of unguentine in my first aid kit.

It is going to be Africa hot here today. It is already 80 here and ever so humid.

Shadow & I have been for a medium walk that took a very long time. She kept laying down in the shady spots. *shakes head* Good thing she gets a lot of exercise at the beach, which we will hit later.

Now, off to Wally World.

Hi everyone,

Ouch karla, that makes me hurt too thinking about it.
I walked 2 miles today at the airstrip and it was windy. Not windy at my house but windy at the airstrip. Now I'm sneezing like a banchee. I forgot the allergy crap is out now so I've got to watch that.

Julia, good work on the run.

I'm getting ready to color my hair. Seems since I've had surgery, it's graying a lot and I've never had gray hairs before and I'm not used to that.

Welcome to the gray hair society, Cheryl. I kind of like mine now that it's mostly grey. You're right, though, it does take some getting used to.

Cheryl, with everything you've been going through, it's understandable.

Karla, wow, sorry to hear about your hand. Are you right handed or left? Here's a tip, too, don't buy oven mitts at dollar stores. Seems like they'd be somewhat well made, considering what they're used for, but NOOOoooo.

Did the upper body, interval blah blah workout, but there were a lot of upper body/arm with weights exercises in the one I did yesterday too, so I don't know if that's good or bad.

Gotta run! Have a good rest of the day all.

Evening all, kinda busy but wanted to say hello.
Sue your yard looks wonderful, geez I am itching to get me a yard again! I hate renting
Karla, sorry about your hand. I was taught to cook in gas ovens up north, then move to the south where everything is electric.......well lets just say I have been in your shoes. Just keep that covered when you are working so it does not infect.
Pattie, I am soooo happy hubby is home. A month, I go crazy if Bob and I are apart a couple of weeks!
Cheryl, my hair is really coming in gray...since hubby has been unemployed I have used an awesome rinse that lasted 6 weeks and I have gotten so many compliments on the color. I'm not too sure I will ever pay for a color job again when this works just as well.
JJ good job, you go girl. I am delinquent exercising this week but will pick up after the move. I am doing a little bit of walking at work during lunch.
Have a good week if I don't get back.
