Default Friday's "Really late start" exercise thread

Good morning everyone

Well the "kids" started making the "get up" noises around 4:15 So I thought since hubby gets up every morning with them I would be a "good wife" so I got up,let them out then put their food in their bowls and headed back to bed
lol I think I made was back asleep before they were done eating

Next thing I knew it was after 7

I have to run over to C/D to let my buddy out

Then I will decide what will be next on my list lol hopefully my brain will be fully awake

So I will be back in a few to chat more

Good morning. Wow, Karla, I wish I could go back to sleep like that. I'm jealous.

Did my mile walk to the clubhouse and back with a 25 min. weight session in between. I'm staying clear of the scenic route because of its proximity to some of the "lakes" in here. It's alligator mating season and I don't want to be foreplay.

Not much else going on. I think I convinced DH to take me to Coconut Point mall to do some shopping. They have a clothing store I used to like up north called Christopher and Banks. Stuff for folk my age but not elastic polyester pants with the sewn crease down the front. I'm not quite ready for that yet. He can sit in the B&N while I'm there.

Have a great day, all.

Oh, I meant to tell you all about the fella I've mentioned who's a master gardener and had his garden torn out by the community. A week ago, he had a stroke and has been in a coma ever since. His family has been called in and they're supposed to meet with the doctor this morning. I'm sure all the stress he's had with his garden didn't help his health. I feel so bad for the guy and his wife.

What? His community tore out his garden? I don't understand ... were they trying to help him clear out weeds and brush, or was it something malicious?

Hi, JJ.

I live in a gated 55+ community that has a Homeowners Association and all the rules that go along with one. This guy would work for $$ in other folks' gardens, but he let his get all overgrown and nasty looking. They went after him about a year ago and kept giving him dates by which he had to trim it down by so much. Sometimes he'd meet the dates, but if he did, he'd only trim a little bit. It was just an eyesore and they kept on him and finally sent in a crew who really cut his gardens way back and they sent him the bill for it. Between the "harrassment" (in his view, which I understand to an extent) and the 3 car accidents he was in over the past 2 years, I'm sure the stress just got to him. The man could be a pain in the butt and I'm sure that at least some of the stress was brought on by his own attitude and actions, but I still hate to see things end like this for him.

That's it in a nutshell.

Morning peeps!

Shadow & I have been for a quick walk this morning. Later we will hit the beach.

Today is "beat the yard into submission" day, assuming I can get the mower started. DH can start it on the first pull every time. I have to work a little bit harder to make it run. Also we are hoping to install a dishwasher today. That means I am losing cabinet space. Not sure where I am going to put the stuff that is in there......

Wow, what a sad situation. My parents have a very strict HOA and have gotten cited for having a mailbox in need of paint, not having enough flowers in their yard, and painting their house the wrong colors (nothing crazy at all, just not on the approved list), so I know that crazy HOAs are out there. Some of them are just a bunch of nosy tyrants!

I also live near a house that is the eyesore of the street, with overgrown bushes and an unkept yard. The neighbors have had a pile of brush at the curb for about four months, waiting for the free brush pickup (which, thank goodness, is next week). The brush we cleared two weeks ago has been stacked neatly in our backyard, waiting to be taken down this weekend. That way we can keep the grass cut out front--our neighbor's is several inches tall, growing into the brush and filled with dandelions. Their front porch has had a pile of cinderblocks on it since we moved here almost two years ago. Our HOA is practically nonexistent, which I appreciate in some ways, but I can see the value too. Our next-door neighbor is moving, and she says every few years, someone on the street says something, but it rarely does any good.
