We got back from Sam's at about 2:30. It was a crazy trip. We started deciding which streets and roads to take by whether or not they had a gas station. Each gas station had at least 2 policemen on duty and lines and sometimes the lines came out into the street. Our gas station at the corner that had a line when I came home from the aquatic center yesterday, was totally out of gas today. We still have gas in both cars, so we will just keep our eyes out for a station that has gas and is not too busy.

Lunch was cheesecake. Great lunch!

Man... I guess we're lucky. I don't know how much gas is where y'all are, but here in west Texas, it's $3.51/gallon. And there's no lines. All stations you drive up to any of several open pumps.

Rath, how is the foot doing.

Our attorney general has filed about 22 suits against price gouging service stations. We have a lot of taxes on gas. Most of our gas is around $3.89 for regular, but it has been a while since we could buy regular so we have been paying about $4.20 something. I think this situation is in NC, SC, and Tennessee. I am not sure about Virginia. One station in Indian Trail was charging over $5 per gallon. People were buying it because they needed gas. The service station manager said he was charging according to what he had to pay? I am sure it is supply and demand.

We are way out in the country and everybody uses a lot of gas. We average a tank per week and Mr. VA works from home. I have done about half the driving I normally do this week. We were both saying how lucky we are now and remembering the last time we had a situation like this. Mr. VA used to fill up every day because his calls made him travel 300 miles per day sometimes. I used an average of 2 gallons per day just to get to work and back.

They are promising more gas next week.

It is getting chilly here too. It is 71 in our hallway. The air conditioner is still set at 76 so I guess it won't be coming on tonight. Heat, etc. is not a problem because we live in a total electric home.

Our weather tree is really blowing around out there. LOL This is a family joke. We don't have a weather rock, we have a weather tree. It is windy and rainy. I love weather like this. We should be getting pretty leaves soon on our weather tree.

Ouch, Izzy, that's really expensive! I'm glad my eyes are just not good enough to look very far. For my contacts I pay about 110 $ for half a year.

Prepared all the things for the bbq that could be prepared in advance and cooked dinner for hubby.
I just had the leftovers of DS buttered slice of w/w bread, he just doesn't like bread, and a grilled cheese.
chocolate chip muffin at about 8:30 p.m.
