Default Thursday's "within our reach" food journal

Good morning! As the weekend is approaching and a sunny hot forecast is in our future here in NC, I just can't wait.... This morning I have my first meeting with a personal trainer at the gym and then my daughter's second swim meet tonight. We got her a private lesson yesterday after her practice and the swim instructor says she has a very good stroke, especially for a beginner. So, whats on your schedule for today? Coffee with sugar in the raw and soymilk......happy Thursday! Jeannie

Jeannie, at this age we don't go too far from excellent medical care. Maybe she can just come to North Carolina.

I asked Mr. VA's doctor about travel and he said it is just fine. He never seems to have any problems after the seizure is over. He went to the garbage dump and mailbox by himself today and we are going to take our old car to get the horn fixed. We couldn't take it before without having to stay to get it fixed. We will just be leaving it and go back when they are finished. The seizures have always happened in his sleep and his doctor said that most people don't sleep when they drive. I never use the horn, but it is necessary to pass inspection. The estimate for the repair is more than $300. Crazy.

Lacey, I feel for you doing the hospital visit. Our hospital has really good food and they sell salad by weight. I had never seen that before. You can decide how big you want your salad. They had really good sausage gravy too. LOL

Coffee and milk
banana
2 strawberry eggo waffles

Hi all-you are so right NCN-good/close med care is a requirement.

Our hospital gift shop has homemade soup everyday-I told them they drum up business for the cardiac ward as it's always cheese, cream based.

Lunch was 3 halves of graham crackers, 17 Special K crackers.

Dinner-I stopped and got 1/4 lb rare Boars Head roast beef, home made multigrain bread from a deli here and will have that and salad.

$300 to fix a horn-wow.

Not a great day for Mr. L-nurses said bad night and this morning a very, very long barium swallow/test. IV's have to be moved daily too and he has more holes than Swiss cheese. BTW-he is very grouchy-LOL

Lacey, Mr. VA got in the car we haven't driven for months and the air conditioner did not work. He parked it and we are car shopping again. I wonder if a 1996 Buick Century will qualify for the old clunker bonus if we can find one with better gas mileage? I am thinking it should, Mr. VA doesn't. That would just be too good to be true. He said they are talking about SUV's. Our LeSabre is getting 28 mpg around town. We get over 30 mph on interstates. The motor in the Century is still going strong and we have had very few repairs on it. The windows have cost more than anything else. They cost $500 each and we have had to replace several on it and the LeSabre. I told the man at the Buick place that they should recall those windows.

We had Sam's samples for lunch and came home and had a Totino's pizza and he had a salad with it. After Sam's cookies, I didn't want anything else.

Lacey grouchy is actually a good sign. That is better than quiet and listless. I have been dealing with Smart Alex today. LOL Hey, we're up to it. I hope Mr. Lacey gets better. Mr. VA has roving blood vessels and I hated to see anyone coming with a needle. The really great thing was when they gave him a shot in his stomach. I almost fainted. He just did an intake of breath.

Lacey, glad to see you eating a good dinner. You really needed it.
