Good morning ladies...
So far it's just coffee for me...I'll have a little cottage cheese for breakfast. My daughter will be coming by for coffee this morning, so will also have a home made scone (well from a box mix actually!).
Not sure about lunch or dinner yet!
Elizamary...I think I'm with you on the XL/Med size thing!! I recently switched to Med and found it actually makes me look better than the baggie stuff I used to wear. I'm not a size 6-8 unfortunately! Enjoy the night out with friends.
Jeannie...enjoy the family and the games...I hope you don't get rained out!
Lacey...enjoy the fall craft show and lunch out! Wish I had a slice of your meatloaf...nothing better than a cold meatloaf sandwich with catsup!!
NCN...good morning!
Have a super Saturday everyone!!

Hi Izzy...yes, it would be nice to get a little rain here don't you think? Have a good time at your get togethers!
Speaking of overdoing the Cheetos NCN...I love those things! I buy the baked kind in the 100 Calorie packages...I have to admit...I sometimes go a bit overboard and have 2!! It happens!
But somehow coming here and chatting with all you nice ladies makes me more accountable...thank you all!

See everyone later!

Yes, Lacey is a very good example of a disciplined person.
Jeannie, when I did that post it looked like we would have rain all day. Really messy morning! It rained through our shopping trip and then while we were eating our Bojangle's bingo winnings, out came the sun. I had a ham and egg biscuit, coffee and cream and some french fries--we shared a medium size fries.
Years ago I decided I would never shop with my husband again, but necessity made it happen today and it was actually fun. I just ignored his being one step behind me and remembered how many times I have had to wait dinner because he came home late. His turn! I tried on 9 swimsuits and only bought two.
Then we tried a new store. Have you ever been to Audi? That is one of the things retirement lets you do. We have less money and more time, so we can check things out. Interesting experience. He did not like doing that either.
I went on into the store and he went to get the shopping cart. A short time later, he came into the store and said, "I am not messing with this place; they have all the shopping carts chained together." He turned around and started out the in door. LOL I went on in to check with someone as to how we could get a shopping cart. I knew there was a way because others had them. Well, you have to put a quarter in and you get it back when you deposit the cart back in the pile. He had a cart just about before the lady finished telling me the procedure. He just didn't want to shop there. I was very strong-willed today. Must be those cheetos I had last night.
Most of the products in the store were different than I am used to and it was really interesting. I was like a kid in the candy store. I had picked up several items when he whispered in my ear, "I wouldn't get carried away; I don't think they put the products in bags for you." I said, "Sam's doesn't either." That is where we had first planned to go. I don't think I have ever seen so much pasta, products with sugar in them and individual packaged frozen foods. We found our place in the produce and bought lots of things and came out paying less than $15. Going out the door the second time he said, "I think I will buy our cat food here next time." I wish you could have all been with me. We were a little like a sitcom all the way through the store.
So I bought two swimsuits, lunch and quite a few groceries and spent less than $75. Guess I am adjusting to retirement.
So if anyone wants to know what I have done since I retired, I will tell them I have worn out 5 swimsuits.

NCN...You did good on $75!! I went in an Auldi's store up in WI years ago...they have great prices for sure! My ds and dil shopped there and got a lot of great deals. We don't have them in SoCal...we have Winco, which is also very reasonable and you bag your own groceries.
I do think having to pay a quarter to get a cart is a great idea...especially since you get it back when you return it...it cuts down on shopping carts ending up in your neighborhood!
Lunch was 1/2 of a Chipotle Mexican Grill salad with rice, black beans, veggies and chicken.

There are trucks that ran around getting trucks all over the area,It used to work in K-Mart in one city, but I guess they had to abandon that idea of putting 25c,no one wanted to go in that store.I guess smaller cities follow the laws better.
Yesterday, went to two get togethers, daytime was veggies, fruit, lox and bagels at night was corn chowder fruit and veggies.

We had never paid for a cart in our lives before. I think Mr. VA just didn't want the practice to become a trend. One store gets away with it, the rest will start. What if you don't have a quarter? Do you try to carry everything in your arms? LOL
