Moving from Boston. I pretty much Zeroed in on the above apartments in White rock lake. Both apartments fall in the vicinity of Lakewood Elementary school (I have 2 kids). Need advise on which is a better place for a FAMILY. From what I read, The Bungalows is more conducive for unmarried but it does offer more SFT for the dollar.

Also, if you know, please comment on "Advenir at Lake Highlands" apartments in Richardson. Read some horror reviews on it but not sure if things changed off late. It has good schools near by though.

If you have 2 children, and you want apartments that are safe and family friendly, I would ensure that you are spending at least $900 on a 2 bedroom apartment. If it is anything less, it is probably trashy, possibly dangerous, and in decline. Of course, it's possible to find something cheap and nice, but it's more of a gamble if you're coming from out-of-state and don't know the area well.

I would definitely keep this in mind when looking at apartments in the Lake Highlands area.

I don't know anything about either apt. But just based on location, The Winstead has access off Gaston and Winstead. Across Winstead is White Rock Lake and a short walk down there is a playground and a huge field where you can fly kites, kick around a ball, etc. There are also trails to walk.

Bungalows, is that a Power Property? I know the townhouses along Connecticut Lane on Gaston have been purchased recently by a group which plans major improvements. Winstead would be good in my estimation - trails, park, lake, access to spillway, YMCA and you could even walk to Lakewood School without crossing a major street.
