You can't go to a park or any of the trails (such as Arbor Hills) for a peaceful jog or bike ride without stepping in dog poop. I am sick and tired of this SH*T. At Arbor Hills for example, the city even provides free bags for dog owners to pick up their SH*T.

If you are a dog owner, please realize that this ain't no third world country. Pick up your SH*T, bag it, and throw it away. If you can't do that, it is high time to ban dogs from parks. The parks are for human enjoyment, not to deposit your dog SH*T.

So here's my proposal. Ban dog walkers from human parks and create smaller parks for dog walking. They can leave the poop or pick it up at these parks. It would be their choice.

If you are caught walking a dog at a regular park, $500 fine.

Whine of the day award.

What everyone wants is more government intrusion into our private lives. I agree that it's a PITA to find dog poop everywhere. But your proposal is ridiculous.

SH*T happens.

Oh, I sooooo agree! I walk 3 dogs and scoop my poop every time. Gets me really angry when I see poop. Even at the dog park I often have to remind other owners that "Opps! I guess you didn't notice but that pile came from your doggie." People can be such pigs!

Agreed. Do you not watch where you're going? I'm at Arbor Hills all the time and have yet to step in dog crap. I use the paved area, non paved trails and mountain bike trail and it's never been a problem for me. You are aware that Arbor Hills is a NATURE PRESERVE meaning that there are lots of wild animals that crap everywhere, right? Go walk around the mall if you can't handle being outside.

Bear Creek park in Keller is very bad. They too provide bags and trash cans for disposal. YES, the dogs crap on the sidewalk ALL OVER the paved trails...these are not small piles either. It's gross it smells etc... Also people are constantly letting the dogs run loose so the poop on the palying fileds. Yes where the kids practice soccer and baseball.

It's disgusting. I have a dog and I like dogs. I pick up after my dog craps in a public place. I however do not assume that everyone enjoying the park loves dogs and likes having my dog run up to them etc...

I don't know what you can do these people think they are above rules etc... Keller has a leash law, but you wouldn't know it. It's also a city ordinence to "soop your poop", hence the bags pro ided by the city. But people are pigs as you said and they feel it's beneth them to pick up thier dogs crap. Taht is why they take them to the park...they don't want dog poop in thier yard!

Hey Jimi: Of course I watch where I am going but sometimes DOG POOP is hidden in the grass. Also, I doubt wild animals at the Nature Preserve are crapping on paved pathways and trails. They crap in the woods.

Law enforcement should start ticketing those that allow their pets to poop in public areas and don't scoop. They ticket for not having a fishing license or a hunting license. This is another revenue option for the cities.

STAY OUT OF THE PARK IF YOU DON'T WANT GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT. Parks are created by governments. So are nature preserves. It ain't the wilderness or the forest.
