We are new to Dallas! Does anyone have any school (public or private) recommendations besides Shelton and Winston, for a 11 y/o learning different ADHD boy, entering 6th grade:confused? We are willing to move anywhere in the metroplex and are searching for a challenging curriculum.

Fairhill (near Shelton) and Dallas Academy (near White Rock Lake), Glen Lake (Plano). All dedicated LD schools.

First Baptist Academy downtown will take kids with learning disabilities, but it's not an LD school. Just a regular private school that goes through 12th grade. You might get your challenging curriculum there.

Once he gets high school age, Bishop Lynch (northest Dallas) will also take some LD kids. It's a regular co-ed Catholic high school.

I don't know of any public schools that are particularly outstanding for LD/ADHD. Some are okay, I guess. Plano ISD usually makes a better than average stab at it. Lewisville ISD does good up until middle school then it peters out as far as being helpful.

I know one kid that went from Shelton to Dallas Lutheran in search of a harder curriculum. She was more LD, than ADHD. That school starts at 6th or 7th grade and is in Lake Highlands.
