Since this forum seems to have kind of an obsession with hamburgers (no problem to me), did anyone else see Leno last night? Josh Brolin gave a huge endorsement to WHATABURGER. Seems his dear late mom loved them and insisted that he try one. He loved it and gave it a big thumbs up. And this is an actor from California! And absolutely no mention of In N' Out!!!!

Forgot to add that Corpus Christi is where the first ever Whataburger location opened.

So it's not surprising that someone who is from there and was around when that first ever location opened up would think so fondly of it and mention it to her son, who wanted to share a nice story about his mom on TV. IMHO, it does not mean much besides that, especially not in terms of any "burger war."

In 1961 my family lived in Monterrey Mexico on tourist papers and had to come to border every 5 months. The hamburgers in Mexico really sucked at that time and our first and last stop when we crossed was a Whataburger Joint.

Don't get your hopes up one bit. It's a Carl's Jr that CKE (Carl Karcher Enterprises, parent company of Carl's and Hardee's) is opening in Richardson (And around the metro), not a Hardee's. The "Hot Ham and Cheese" is a Hardee's item and Carl's Jr does not have Hardee's items on their menus.
