Ok, you don't have to believe it.

They have actually started excavating land where the actually theme park will be, but thanks for your concern. Though, this EarthQuest resort is on a completely different scale than the Museum Tower.

You cannot compare a theme park to a residental tower.

Exactly. A better comparison would have been the Ritz tower in Uptown Houston, which was delayed indefinitely because of the economy. It is suppose to be 50+ stories. The rest of the development is under construction already (BLVD Place).

Is there any chance of this thing going up Scarface?

It looks really nice! I hope it's not residential- then it would have to dig it's way to for construction.

Dallas folks. It may appear that we're trying to rain on your parade, but we're really not. We're just calling a spade a spade and right now I repeat, this tower makes no sense, even with speculation that things will improve in 3 years when completed. They still haven't been able to fill the Ritz condos after marketing them for 4 years! I mean if building towers when its evident they will be sitting empty, just to have a fuller skyline means all that much to you guys, then more power to you. I'm happy for you guys.

I don't think Scarface is saying the construction will not happen. A groundbreaking ceremony is a tennative groundbreaking and it doesn't mean that anything is set in stone. I googled the Dallas condo market and there is an overabundunce of available supply already.

I'll concede and say, we'll see in a month.

Oh my Lawd!! Why do Houston folk care about what is going on in Dallas? I have never cared about what happens in Houston.

It is set in stone, trust me I live here. The project is already fully funded, so that means construction will start very soon.

Since it was said to be 50 floors, I'd say over 600ft.

There is a chance (cue in Jim Carry "Dumb and Dumber" references). The economy has to pick back up first. Sucks that Ritz Carlton went broke/didn't manage their properties right in the 90s. Houston had a Ritz Carlton, but now it's the St. Regis (pretty much the same thing as a Ritz). It is suppose to be part hotel and part residential condos at the top. The rest of the project is progressing just fine though.
