I didn't read the link, but I'm guessing the financing is just in place and construction hasn't started. They're getting money from police/fireman retirement funds. I can already hear a lawsuit coming. And like I said, where is the market for high priced and small condos like this in Dallas? Did they not learn from Victory Park?

You have to remember, Dallas has always built on speculation, not demand.

They need to worry about buying, fixing up, & filling those older empty buildings in the heart of downtown first. Elm Place immediately comes to mind.

This is from the article

They made an agreement with the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System to fund construction of the $200 million project. The pension fund will own the tower; developers Brook Partners and Turtle Creek Holdings will retain an "economic interest," according to local coverage.

It's such a nice tower, but there is not a market for it in Dallas. That's all I'm saying.

I've never seen so much pride in building a nice, shiney building that is just poised to sit vacant for years to come. Well, to each his own! I guess some people don't mind if they become the next Miami.

No sour grapes, just good "realistic" grapes.

There is not a market for these high priced condos in Dallas. Just go look at the sales of the others like The Mansion and The Ritz. They are well below spectacular, yet they want to build small condos in Downtown Dallas starting from $1.1 million? Are you kidding me? They'll be losing a lot of cash on this thing.

I don't here the Houstonians calling Atlanta and Miami over built but Dallas put up one tower and all hell has broken loose.
