It's been really hot so far, but I'm told by long time residents that it's been about 10 above normal every day for this time of year.

And dont' forget, summer has only officially started 3 days ago!!!!! 15 years in Texas and can't get used to the heat either but I can't go back to Chicago's weather.

I'll never love the heat, but I found that after about 2 years my tolerance adjusted between 5 and 10 degrees warmer. Of course I grew up in San Diego where people think 85 is very very hot!

I should clarify, while I haven't bought a gun we DO still have one in the house. My father in law gave a little 38 special to my wife before we got married (not because of me! because she was living alone). Just 5 rounds and no reloading.
