Does anyone know anything about this area, one of my co-workers said greenville is not that far from dallas, if i was to move, what city would be the best to move to?

Greenville isn't that far from Dallas, but it's a bit much for a daily commute. I work near the Garland and Richardson border. One of my former co-workers lived in Greenville and it was 45 minute to hour commute. Greenville is a small town. I'm not sure if there is much out there.

Greenville has a small mall w/ a JC Penney in it. A few other stores and such in it. Not a "big city mall" by any means. There is a SuperWalmart, couple of car dealerships, Home Depot, manufacturing companies, Mary of Puddin Hill (a MUST go to) some cute shops and such. Not a "small town" but more like a small city not connected to a larger metropoitian area. Up the road in Commerce is a branch of Texas A&M University that gets a fair number of people commuting from the Dallas area. Mostly teachers working on additional credits that do the commute or older students. The young right out of high school college kids live up there. Close to several lakes and lots of horse property. If you want to live closer to the metroplex then look down I30 at Royce City, Fate and even Rockwall. This will put you w/in easy commute of work in Greenville (and going the opposite direction of most traffic) and easy reach to Dallas for other things you may want. I30 is a heavily traveled highway for freight traffic so you will see lots of trucks.

If your in Greenville or Royce City/Rockwall vicinity then Texas A&M Commerce is the best option. Many teachers that live on the eastern side of the metroplex go up there to get their masters. If your in Dallas or the suburbs then you have more options such as the community colleges (Dallas County Community College District), University of Texas at Dallas, Southern Methodist Univ, Dallas Theological, etc.

I've been through KC about 6 times, twice on vacation. We go there for Royals games once or twice a year. It's a place we truly feel like we are home in. I love this city and all there is to do. My favorite spot is the fabulous WWI memorial museum, even the architecture is beautiful. Union station is a great place to hang out for adults and kids alike. When we went there without the kids, they were very upset knowing we went to KC without them. I would never want to leave if I lived there. My first choice to live as well as hubby's, but not as many jobs as in Dallas for us.
BTW: We like Dallas as well (didn't want anyone to feel left out). So much that it is our new home although we will probably retire near KC.

My friend at work and her family is from KC and they love it here...much easier transition from the midwest to Dallas than either of the coasts.
