Christian, Catholic..................

There is Canyon Creek Christian Academy in Plano that has been around for awhile. Good academic school.

There is a new Catholic HS in Plano but I can not think of the name right now....... initials JPS??? This is the only catholic high school in the entire northern burbs of Dallas.

Prestonwood Baptist is probably the closest to Frisco and they are in Plano on 544 and Midway.

The "best" private schools in Dallas are in North Dallas. They are:

St. Mark's School for Boys (tuition 20,500)
Hockaday school for girls (tuition 19,600)
Greenhill School (tuition 19,200)
Episcopal School of Dallas (tuition 20,700)
Cistercian school for boys (in Irving) (tuition 13,000)

They all have all 12 years. I don't think St. Mark's has kindergarten though.

The private schools in Collin County that go through 12th tend to be religious. The ones I know of are:

Prestonwood Christian Academy, Plano (tuition about 12,500) PreK4-12th
Legacy Christian Academy, Frisco (tuition about 9,500) Pk3-12th

Catholic schools - there are several that go Pk-8th grade in Plano and then there is the above mentioned Pope John Paul High School in Plano. It's new, but seems to be pretty good. I think this coming year is there 3rd year.

There is also in Plano a private school for kids with ADHD called Great Lakes Academy (tution about 15,250) K-12th

Many kids in Collin County attend private school in Dallas. My son is in a Dallas area private school and lots and lots of the kids live in Collin County.

Here is a great website about private schools in the area:

The best Montessori school I have ever seen is St. Alcuin Montessori School in North Dallas. Oh my goodness that was a nice place. I went on a parent tour and information visit with a group of parents. It was so impressive. Then the headmaster said they were totally full and the waiting list was totally full. This was 10 years ago. Not sure what enrollment is like now. My guess is it's still hard to get in to. Tuition is about $15,600. They have 530 kids and goes 18 months to 8th grade.

This is not in Frisco or Plano, but for anyone looking for a nice private Christian school and just hanging out in this forum, we chose Wesleyan Academe in Irving. Great school, great price and I know my kids will be very happy there. We were very impressed.

Trinity Christian in along the tollway in north Dallas around Frankford, I think. It is K through 12. For high school Jesuit is at the tollway and 635. Greenhill is off of Midway north of 635 and its PreK through 12. The Episcopal High School is off of Midway north of Alpha. Cistercian is in Irving-I think they are 6 through 12-boys only and they have some transportation. All Saints Catholic K-8 is on coit Road. Prince of Peace Catholic (k-8) is off of Preston and Prince of Peace Lutheran (k-12)is on Midway and International in west Plano. Those are the ones I know the best.

Oh, yeah, all great schools. And there is Ursuline Academy where Melinda Gates (Bill Gates' wife) graduated from. It's an all girls Catholic high school. She went to K-8 at St. Monica's, a Catholic School in North Dallas. There is a great Catholic school 7-12th in Oak Cliff, too, called Bishop Dunne.

Also we are lucky enough in Dallas to have a bunch of great schools for kids with dyslexia and ADHD:
Shelton School (age 3-12)
Fairhill (K-12)
The Winston School (1-12)
Oak Hill (age 3-8)
Dallas Academy (K-12)

There are lots and lots of private schools here.
