Are there any areas in Richardson and Plano that have bad school districts? If so, which zip codes?

I believe all of Richardson feeds into either Richardson ISD or Plano ISD, both well-regarded districts.

Plano mostly feeds into Plano ISD, but the northern portions go to Frisco ISD and the Denton County portion of Plano on the far west feeds into Lewisville ISD.

You really need to be looking at individual schools more than the districts. Plano ISD has a few clunkers. Ardent RISD defenders aside, so does Richardson ISD. Conversely, Lewisville has a highly-regarded high school (Flower Mound) - unfortunately, that's not the one Plano kids in Lewisville ISD attend.
