They DO have some of the best chips and salsa. Well, I think my own hot sauce is better . We only go to the El Fenix in downtown Dallas. It just tastes better there. I still remember the El Fenix Cafeteria in Dallas right by Farmers Branch that was at Forest and Webb Chapel. As a kid grew up eating at the El Fenix there or the one down at Bachman Lake.

I dislike El Fenix, I think it's one of those you had to grow up eating it things.

Now Mom, if you're going to brag on your hot sauce, get you down to the food and drink forum and post the recipe!! Or is it a family secret?

We go. It's good. Some days, I'd rather go there than Matt's (blasphemy, I know!!). It's very clean and well run. And the decor is cute.

I've been to it several times. It's always been very good!

I don't like much Tex-Mex, but Christina's isn't too bad IMHO. Good drinks too.

Matt's, Mia's, Gloria's, Mi Cocina, & Bandito's would round out my top 5 in Dallas.

Still mourning the loss of the old Casa Rosa in Inwood Village.

Joe T's in FW is also a favorite.

Since this thread went off topic in about 3 posts, don't blame me for that. But my favorite TXMex is Dos Rios in Richardson.

I went to El Fenix in Dallas on 8/29/10 (the one on Forest Lane near Webbs Chapel) and it was great as usual. Maybe they aren't all as good as that one, but I love their food!

So where in Waxahachie are they building it? I'm there all the time because my folks live near there. We are always looking for some new place to eat. I grew up eating at the El Fenix in Oak Cliff by Methodist hospital and the one downtown. I haven't been to one in many years.
