Hi All! We are officially moving and we purchased a home in McKinney. We currently live in CA and will be moving in 3 weeks to McKinney. I don't mind driving up to 30 minutes for a great doctor/hospital (our current doctors in CA are about 20 minutes away). I am hoping for some recommendations for the following types of doctors:

Pediatrician
OBGYN
General Practitioner

I would also appreciate advice on the best hospital for labor & delivery.

Thanks so much!

I delivered in Dallas, but I always hear good things about Plano Presby.

Our son and wife live in McKinney.......just had a baby 3 weeks ago. They went thru a lot to get pregnant and then DIL had a high-risk pregnancy - her original OB referred her to Dr. Lori Halderman because of the complications. They really liked her and felt safe with her and her staff ....she's young, high energy, down-to-earth, friendly. Her office is on Virginia Pkwy (west part of town) and she has a couple of other doctors in with her. She delivered at the McKinney Medical Center and they were pleased with it, but I think Dr. H delivers at another hospital there, too. As grandma, I was impressed with the nursery staff and the patient rooms. The cafeteria and patient food leave a lot to be desired - not really a problem unless you have to stay several days.

As for pediatricians.....my DIL teaches with a building full of young mothers - most of them use and highly recommended Dr. Paul Reyes. He doesn't come to the hospital at time of delivery (don't guess many of them do) but when they met him at the baby's first appointment (the day after discharge), they liked him, felt he did a very thorough examination, spent a good deal of time talking with them. He's with Stonebridge Pediatrics in the west part of McKinney (not far from Dr. Halderman's office) and has one partner in the practice.

Best wishes on your baby and your move to Texas.....
