If you didn't know, there has been a huge canned pumpkin shortage since Thanksgiving of last year...I didn't figure it out until I got the itch for pumpkin in early August.

At any rate, the stuff should be making its way back into stores soon...anyone seen it anywhere?

I've seen it at Whole Foods and Target, of all places. Haven't seen it at all at Tom Thumb, Kroger, or Sprouts. Haven't seen it at Central Market either.

If you're desperate for pumpkin puree you could always make your own from butternut squash. Some stores are even starting to stock sugar pumpkins again. CM had them yesterday.

I think the OP is talking about pumpkin puree, not pie mix...but I have seen very little of either since last year. Apparently there was a huge pumpkin crop failure last year; that's what the guy at Whole Foods said anyway.
