the best BBQ in DFW
I moved to Dallas @ 5 years ago, and have to say that in that time I realized of all the places I have lived, the restaurant scene is by far best here. Manhattan has nothing on Dallas
That being said, at work recently a simple question I asked stirred up a much heated debate: What is your favorite BBQ joint and why? It seemed someone had an opinion about everyplace, and it then became a question specific to type. So I'll repeat the question, incorporating feedback and further definition required from work. I'll later post what the consensus was from my co-workers.
When you reply, say why you are endorsing something over the others.
1. Best BBQ joint
2. Break it down further:
Best BBQ beef
Best BBQ pork
Best Ribs
Best Poultry
Best Brisket
Best BBQ other

Here in TX my favorite place so far is Big Daddy's in Lavon. It's a shack, but good eatin'. Still nothing like BBQ in Virginia...

I like the BBQ in Bone Daddy's in Dallas/Richardson area. The food is great, and the staff is excellent!

realistically, I don't think any BBQ in this area tastes as good as that in Luling at the City Market--love their brisket and the sausage that is still hand made...
we eat at Spring Creek and Danny D's in Hurst and have eaten at Bone Daddy's in Grapevine and Red, Hot and Blue--they are ok....
there is an independent bbq place called The Red Barn on 23 in Colleyville that has pretty good brisket...

Angelos in Fort Worth. I was pleasantly surprised when The Food Network did a special on Barbeque, Bobby Flay went there and ate with Angelo himself.

Angelos is hard to beat, there's also the Railhead off of I-30 and Montgomery in Fort Worth if you can get in the door..I haven't tried the one out Grapevine way.
For the best, greasiest, sloppiest, cheapest chopped beef sandwiches then there's only one choice.......Riscky's and you have to go to their North Side location at Azle Ave. and 28th street. They have other locations but only at the N side one is the brisket as good. It's in a real old grocery store, and it's one of those hidden treasures in the middle of an area you shouldn't hang around after the sun goes down....
