Default What providers for internet, phone, and TV.

I may have posted this before, if so I am sorry. In the throws of moving, I have lost track of my posts.

We are moving to Richardson at the end of this month and I need to know who provides internet (preferrably cable but DSL is ok), phone, and TV.

Thanks!

Time Warner for cable (TWC)

I had them in our apartment, when we moved in our house we went with AT&T (Uverse) and love it. it's over fiber sort of like Verizon's "fios"

Default AT&T U-verse

Hi there--

I'm going to be moving to Preston village apartments in North Dallas from Kansas city. The apartment complex apparently has a deal w/ Time Warner to go through for cable. However, they allow you to bring in satellite, you just can't use their co-ax w/ any other provider.

Unfortunately, satellite is not an option for me because my apartment faces the inside of the community.

Does anyone know if AT&T U-verse would be an option for living in Preston Village apartments since they do not go through Coax? The staff had no clue when I asked... lol

Thanks!

we just went with a pretty basic package, I think it's call U200 or somthing like that?

it's about 70 a month for TV and internet.

I was paying about 90 for TWC tv and internet and I like this TV better.

The Internet is doing about 1.5mb both ways so it's not "blazing" but it is fast enough and it's real stable so far. you might be able to pay more for more speed, I know a co-worker that has Verizon Fios and gets like 15mb down.. but he pays a lot more too.

So far, we really like the Uverse. the cool thing is since it is IP TV basically you can record like 4 things at once.. as opposed to TWC or Direct TV where if you get a Dual tuner you can record 2 things but have to be watching one of them

I talked to AT&T on Tuesday. The best deal they could offer me for local phone service w/ unlimited local and LD, CID, Call Waiting, etc, 1.5MB DSL and co-branded Dish service (America's top 100 package) was $114 before taxes. I'm with Verizon FiOS right now, and I'm getting the same phone package, 5MB FiOS internet and 200+ channels of FiOS tv for $129.

I'd rather go with AT&T, but they just don't offer the speed I want in my area. (And its not wholly their fault, Verizon is the ILEC for most of Plano.) They're process AT&T's paperwork, but the wheels run slowly, and I'm guessing that other providers get a lower priority for IP traffic.

I want Uverse U200, at least the 6MB DSL package and the local phone package for less than $140, but it's just not in the cards for me.

Time Warner is AWFUL to deal with. As of this morning, my phone has still not been connected and we have been here a week. To make a long story short, we established phone/internet/cable with Time Warner 2 weeks prior to our move and they just can't seem to get it together with our phone service. Cable and internet are working fine. (After 2 service calls on the cable). We would dump them by my husband works out of the home and needs internet service. We are shopping this morning for a better provider. EERGH!!!

I'd go with Verizon or AT&T for phone and internet, and perhaps even TV. I've never been satisfied with cable as a provider.
