I do get a bit tired of seeing his Olshan commercials though.

San Francisco columnist: San Francisco might be the bettter city, but that won't buy a World Series win | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/longterm/stories/102710dnmeteskenazi.1cb51d025.html - broken link)

By JOE ESKENAZI / SF Weekly

EXCERPTS:

So my question: Do they have Thunder Stix and a rally monkey in Dallas? Oh, yeah, you've got firearms and George W. Bush.

If that's the measure of the "better" city, then congratulations,Dallas, you're a better city. You, too, can win the World Series.

Now a little about the City by the Bay.

I'd like to say San Francisco isn't the bastion of liberal lunacy people from Dallas must think it is. I'd like to say that, but you guys decide.

And, on some things, San Francisco and Dallas will just have to agree to disagree.

I haven't been to Dallas, but I have seen people shooting J.R. on television there.

Though I haven't visited Dallas, I have been to Houston. And I think residents of San Francisco and Dallas can certainly bond – and make fun of Houston.

The Films al Fresco movie for this Saturday (The Lost Boys) at Main Street Garden has been replaced by a viewing of the World Series. Come down to the park at 5:30 for the game! Jack-O-Lantern contest and pooch parade will still take place around 7pm.

I think the sports fans are in the sports section of city-data forum. After all this section is about the City and not so much the sports. Anyway, I am very much interested and excited that Rangers are the champs and playing in the World Series. They made it this far and nobody can take their title from them. It would be great to have Texas hold the World Series title and I am hoping and praying for their success in the remaining games... Possibly when they get back to home turf with those awesome Texas fans they will do better..

At least nobody will be spitting or throwing anything at Mrs. Cliff Lee. Now that is another pathetic story that should never have happened...

GO RANGERS!!!!

I don't see them, but hear them a lot on the radio. Love Nolan Ryan, but that accent of his when he says "Ohlshayan" bothers me!

Nolan Ryan's accent is not the problem--
HITTING is the problem...
giving up 4 runs can be overcome but Rangers have just stopped hitting--and it is not just the pitching-
they are looking for pitches that aren't coming -- vs looking/hitting what they get...

Why Vlad will swing at a ball and convert that pitch to a strike fouled off and then stand looking at one down the pipe is something I don't understand--and don't understand why he is celebrated for swinging at bad pitches--
if he wants to do that-- he needs to some something WITH that swing--
he has lousy batting avg for the entire post season...

Well...the run is over. :-(

In all honesty, the better team won, and there were times where I wondered did Texas even bother to show up. Regardless, I'm still proud of them.

Good job Rangers! You worked hard! I was rooting for you all the way from California because I detest Bay Area sports teams! Go Rangers!
