We're all mid 20s and would like to try out a fun restaurant near or in uptown.

Will take any recommendations. Probably a group of 7-10... doesn't matter what kinda food as long as it's good and fun

I'm not sure Barcadia serves dinner...by 8-9pm it is packed with bar-goers with narry a waitress or dinner to be be found. They do serve brunch though.

OP- check into Park, which is next to Barcadia on Henderson, and also has a cool lounge (Bar Celine) in back.

Nick & Sam's Grill is a good bday place- you can reserve part/all of the upstairs balcony area for a bday party.

Mia's or Manny's are also good picks for Tex-Mex.

Taverna in the Knox-Henderson area is a cute little Italian place, more intimate, but not exclusively a date place as you often see groups there.

I always see groups like this at Victor Tango.

Barcadia has a burger-style menu. The food is good, though. But I wouldn't call it "dinner".

If you don't mind going down to Bishop Arts, check out Tillman's.

I just had birthday brunch at Nick & Sam's grill last weekend. Good time for sure.

Victor Tango AND Tillman's are great recommendations! Can't believe I forgot them. Tillman's has a fantastic small party room in the back (The blue "peacock" room) for birthdays- holds up to 10-12 people...had my bday there a few years ago.

Bolsa is great too, although they don't take reservations.....they do have a yummy drinks menu & appetizers while you wait (ie best cheese plate in town!)

Well you could eat at Park and then go next door to Barcadia - it really is a fun place..then back to Bar Celine behind Park if you are up for some later partying.

+1 to that plan. Unless your girlfriend is the most laid-back girl of all time, I suspect dinner at Barcadia is NOT what she has in mind. Park has great food & a great porch.
