Hi,

I'm planning to move to Irving, TX with family for work and will be commuting to Dallas. how much time will it take to commute from Irving to Dallas during peak time and off-peak time? what are the best options to commute, i mean route and other transporation options? (have a car but want to know)

Are there any good neighbourhood/apt in north Irving which is good for family with kid to rent and settle down? And looking for a good day care too in Irving, TX? please help.

Thanks.

We live in Las Colinas, which is in north Irving. It takes my husband 22 minutes in peak rush hour from "kitchen table to desk" and that includes getting in/out of the car, parking, walking to his office building, taking the elevator to the 44th floor. However my husband also drives like Mario Andretti so add 10 minutes to his travel.

Soon the orange line will open and there will be a train from Irving to downtown, so that will be another option. Most newcomers choose to live in the parts of Irving served by Coppell or Carrollton/Farmers Branch school districts. There are many apartments in Valley Ranch, which is north of hwy 635 at the MacArthur St. exit. Lots of family housing. Zip code is 75063. You can use Find Real Estate Listings, School and Neighborhood Information and More - Realtor.com® and select rentals to find rentals. Also you can look on Craigslist for Valley Ranch. There are also very, very nice rentals in LaVillita area; zip code 75039, that are served by good schools.

Oh, there's also a really cute little pocket community called Beverly Oaks that you might want to check out. Very family friendly and really, really close to loop 12 and 183. They actually have a rental in there posted on realtor.com.

If you need a referral for a person who handles Apartment Leasing drop me an DM. There is a lady in this area who does a great job.
