Urban Crust in downtown Plano

Picasso's (not the pizza chain)- Legacy & Independence/Coit (?). Cute little family owned "old fashioned" Italian restaurant - checkered tablecloths, salad bar, homemade pasta & meat dishes

Nicola's- expensive, but good. Shops @ Legacy. There is a 2nd one in University Park now but it's hardly a chain of the Olive Garden variety!

John,

Also Patrizio's is awesome. I get quite a few gift cards for people there in hopes that they will take me! They have about 5 locations in the DFW period. One of them is in Plano at Preston and Park.

Turtle, I've seen Picasso's but haven't eaten there. I'll have to check it out. Nicola's is great, but expensive like you said.

Ryan

Urban Crust is good as is their bar upstairs, the ice bar

We also love Cafe Bene Bene on Frankford. The Nonna's Tortelloni is my favorite. Cafe Bene Bene - Menus (http://cafebenebene.com/pages/menus.htm - broken link)

Picasso's is a great choice if you want the family owned & operated Italian place.....complete with an authentic grumpy Italian father The lasagna's good though, so I don't let him bother me!

Urban Crust rocks. Not your typical pizza place for sure.

Also Patrizio's is great. Although I prefer it when the weather is nice and you can do the patio.

But Nicola's? Not on my list anymore. Had been there a couple of times before and loved it and then Labor Day weekend went on Sunday and it was so truly awful it was almost comical. Service sucked. SUCKED. Salad for friend came with no dressing and they wouldn't bring her any on the side, but then the manager came and asked if she wanted a different salad? Huh?

Then both of the fish dishes at the table were cold. The two steaks were barely warm. But by gosh all the plates were super hot from sitting under the heat lamp.

The manager comped all of our meals and drinks before the entrees had even showed up cold. Very weird. Friend sent a letter and never heard back from management.

We got the impression they'd sent the A team down to their new location and were blowing off the Legacy one.

Too many other good choices to bother with that place again.
