I am considering moving to Texas but not sure which area yet. Does any one know about the funding available for ABA services for children with autism in Texas? Is there any state funding that is available for in home programs? Which are the good ABA agencies in the Dallas area? Do the school districts provide any ABA? Any feedback will be appreciated! Thanks!!

My friend, a Special Ed Teacher (not an Austism specialist) says that ABA services are indeed commonly available. These are typically available at school or through Community orgs. Not sure if ABA is provided for in-home. She suggests that you get in touch with:
Center for Children with Autism (Tel: 214-333-7076); 1353 N. Westmoreland Bldg A, Dallas, TX 75211
and also review TX State Autism resources at
Autism Services

Dear folks of this forum-

I'm also in same boat like recoveryFORautism. My son is a 8 years old non-varbal abd severly autistic. We live in Minnesota and he gets 40 hours (weekly) ABA funded by state. Now, we are planing to move to Dallas, Texas. So, I have few questions for the folks living there -

1. Do you think my son can get state funded ABA? It will not be possible for me to support his cost by myself.

2. If not what are the other cost free options available there for a severly autistic 8 year boy? How effective are those?

3. Which ABA agencies are good at Texas? Does state covers their cost? How much their cost if self funded?

4. If public school district, then which school area offer better services?

Getting answer of all these will be highly appreciated as it will be a great help towards my autistic son. Please extend your cooperation.
Thanks for your time.

1. I don't think you would be able to get state funded ABA here.
2. Public School.
3. There are some ABA agencies here but most we know of, do home program and hire own therapist under supervision of a consultant.
4. It really depends on the teacher you got that year.
We also have a 8yr old non-verbal son.

Check Easter Seal - they have funding based on the family's salary scale, and they also have criteria.
My son, who is turning 4 y/o next month is on their waiting list.

Hi, I am moving to lewisville, TX (dallas area) this summer. My son currently has a full program (40hrs) of services from the school district we are currently on. Can anybody attest to the quality of the services (ABA, speech and OT) available in the lewisville school district? Thank you in advance.
