What is the best area to move to with two small children in DFW? Looking for somewhat of a suburban setting with cultural diversity in the neighborhood and schools. Any info would be helpful...Thanx

The answer has not changed since you posted another thread 10 days ago. It depends on your budget, where your job(s) are, and how long a commute you want.

ALL of the following meet your good schools/ relatively diverse criteria. Now get a map and see how incredibly far apart they are:
Plano, which is HUGE!!
Richardson, which is HUGE!!
Garland
Parts of Dallas ISD, mainly East Dallas around White Rock Lake and northwest Dallas around Forrest & Midway intersections
Parts of Cedar Hill
Parts of Arlington
Irving/ Las Colinas
Parts of Fort Worth ISD (mainly central/south FW near TCU campus)

I'm sure I'm forgetting others, but the areas I named cover about a 30 mile by 40 mile radius. It would take 2 hours in rush hour to get from northwest Plano to a job in downtown Fort Worth. Get the job first.

What is your budget for housing?
Where will you be commuting to for work?

There are VERY many places to live in DFW that fit your criteria. Help us narrow it down a bit...

If you will be commuting to Carrollton/Addsion, then I would look at: Carrollton, Plano, and possibly Coppell and Lewsiville. All of these areas will have good schools, rentals in your price range and won't be a horrible commute for you.

ChristieP has given some good choices. I'm not sure you could find a house in Coppell for $1,100 but I will be the first to say I am not expert. I would also add Richardson your list.

You can find a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment for $1,100 in some places. My friends who rent houses say $1200 is usually the cheapest you will find in a northern suburb.

Thank you all for the input...I just want to make sure my children have a nice neighborhood and school to transition to. I'm not really worried about my commute as of yet in my field I can find a job pretty much anywhere..
