Hello! I would first like to say how helpful and friendly everyone is in Dallas. THANK YOU!!!! We are relocating to Dallas due to my spouse's job. I will be working directly with the population due to being in healthcare. I was wondering how the Grand Prairie and Cedar Hill are. Also how is the drive from Lakewood?

You might find this link useful; Grand Prairie's schools are better rated than Cedar Hill Schools. People from Lakewood will tell you its not too far. It all depends on your price range and the kind of home you are looking for. Lakewood has older, quaint homes and Grand Prairie has newer homes with more space. Lakewood has a quaint feeling. Grand Prairie is very suburban. I have friends and family who live in GP and are very happy there. They love the new civic centers and high school, they love 161's new access to the northern sections. Driving from Lakewood is against the normal traffic flow, so not terrible. I would guess 35 min. to GP in traffic.

TEA ratings for Dallas - Fort Worth area schools

Thanks for the information. I looked back through my post and I forgot to proof read. So my pharagraph does not make a lot of sense. However, I did get the info I needed. I was wondering how the population was and if they area was safe, but I think you answered my question.

I've been to Cedar hill before and I loved the shopping and I also love the views of the hills. Is Grand Prairie similar...in terms of hills? I noticed that Cedar Hill had some homes on hills as well (I think ot was off of Belt line) does GP have that as well? If so what areas? Also, can you get a lot of land for your money in Grand Prairie?

Cedar Hill has a more diverse terrain than Grand Prairie. Grand Prairie has a desirable area called Mira Vista that's on Joe Poole Lake but in general Cedar Hill has the hills, not GP
