the word from the Mill Creek neighborhood president to residents there is that they are still waiting for Atmos to come out and check their lines--
so still no heat in those homes--

We just had our second and it lasted about 40 minutes. Never got cold though. I just had some hot chocolate and sat in front of the fire.

I did hear from one person that on the news they said if your neighborhood is experiencing several blackouts that your neighborhood is using more power than others. Kind of makes sense. So folks that are seeing lots of blackouts........ STOP DOING LAUNDRY AND RUNNING THE VACUUM. LOL!

I've had 3 today up in the northern burbs. first was about 15min. The second happened when I was in the shower and lasted about 45min and the 3rd was about 20min. We're barely even running the heater, I think it is 60 in here. We even tried to go to work, wussed out and turned around and came home. So, please, no more blackouts!

If they're targeting neighborhoods with high usage, it would make sense that many of the suburban neighborhoods would get hit more often. Many of the newer subdivisions are electric only. The developer saves a lot of money by not bringing gas lines into the development. I think this is why my neighborhood hasn't been hit (yet) - it's from the 70's and everyone here has a gas furnace.

It's not so bad in uptown. Our last blackout (45 minutes ago) was literally 3 minutes long.

Sure doesn't seem like they'd gain much for only 3 minutes.

Yeah, maybe it's a sign that they're winding it down here. Who knows though. I'm sure all the uptown businesses raising a fit helps somewhat.
