I'm moving from Phoenix to Dallas in the near future. I receive ongoing medical care from the Phoenix VA. If anyone can share their overall experience with the Dallas VA, it would be appreciated.

The VA here is in a very bad part of town. The facility itself is fairly nice and very safe on the campus itself. My dad goes to the VA often and I have only heard him complain about some minor things (My dad complains about everything). Seems like things have gotten alot better at the VA over the last 5 years or so. I would not give it raving reviews but it certainly is not a horrible place.

It is in a fairly crappy part of town.
However, the Dallas VA hospital sits on a very nice and large campus. I know a young man who was wounded in Iraq in 2009. He now attends physical therapy at the Dallas VA hospital regularly. He told me the people there treat him very well and with a lot of respect.

Parking can be problematic during weekdays, but the DART train runs right past the VA so I recommend that. On weekends parking is fine.

Some bureaucracy and waste, but you'll also find that in any hospital. I have found the staff to be nicer, more polite, more respectful than civilian hospital.

It's a large facility so you'll want to find a couple of maps and take phone number lists with you.

Thanks for the response. I just didn't know what to expect. Other than it being in a bad part of town, it sounds like I can deal with it. Thanks again.

Somehow I failed to mention this in my earlier post. Thank you so much for your service.
