OK,

There are lots of programs for kids under 12 to attend before and after school.

I need assistance with a middle school child: Next year he is entering 6th grade. Does anyone from Lewisville area have any idea what after school program options with bussing are avaliable? LISD has a before and after school program, however, that is for 5th grade and under.

Please do not suggest letting him stay home by himself and to walk 2 blocks to the bus stop, because that will never happen. We'll be in truency court (good kid with ADHD and no concept of time).

Thanks.

when the weather is better call the school he will be attending and ask them
I am sure they know if there are buses picking up kids after school from there and can give you the names
I would say check for a local YMCA--that might be fairly inexpensive
also might check with stay at home moms in your area--if you son has friends with SAH mom you might ask about that
I know someone who works as nanny to three different couples and part of her job is picking up the older kids at school and bringing them home--

The Park Cities YMCA runs an after-school program at the middle school....perhaps check with your local YMCA to see if there is a similar program in Lewisville.

Also, come 7th grade, many athletic practices as well as band / orchestra / choir / musical rehearsals are held immediately after school and lasting until 5-6pm, so that will help you in the future.
