Wow! Really?
I had breakfast down there this morning and all was peaceful and quiet. My car was just as I left it.

I lived in some lofts in Deep Ellum on Elm street for 2 years starting in 06. I loved it down there. On a sunday morning you could literally sit in a chair in the middle of elm street and not have to move for hours. It was so quiet on sundays. There still are lots of restaurants and bars there that are doing better than ever. Adairs, Angry Dog, Twisted root burgers, Sols, and a few other places are doing great. The crime is higher than in the burbs but it isnt any worse than downtown. The bums are the only annoying problem. They are putting up a bunch of highdollar condos/lofts down there. I predict it will be a very desirable (expensive) area in about 5-6 years.
