Dallas IS Arlington. This was DALLAS' subpar bowl. Anything that happens in Arlingtoon is still dallas - that includes the boring moonscapes that surround the entire metroprairie.

In all honestly, the NFL does not like having it in cold weather cities (less than 50 degrees is frowned upon) or where winter weather may be a factor. North Texas' weather in late January-early February is too unpredictable as we have very well seen.

Will North Texas see another Super Bowl? Yes, but It will be at least another 10 years.
Clearly that's why they selected Indianapolis for 2012 and the new open air stadium in New Jersey after that. The NFL is all about the money and Cowboys Stadium offers plenty of that (with an open or closed roof). It will return.

What's so special about retractable roofs?

That was sooo 11 years ago...

Some cities have at least one & not way out in the suburbs either.

Exactly. It was unfortunate that Super Bowl Week was so uncharacteristically wintry. It was 82 degrees in DFW today. The week after the SuperBowl, it was 70+ degrees daily.

If Jerry Jone hadn't made such a big deal out of trying to set an attendance record (dumb!), things would have been much better.

If Jerry Jones would tone down his megalomania and greed in general I suspect things would be much better.

Umm....... I think the point is that when you close the roof it keeps out the bad weather??? If your car has a sunroof, try it sometime when it rains and you'll see what I mean.

As usual, you expand your argument when someone points out the flaws in your original argument.

The venue is why the SB will return, even with a paid attendance of 91,060 SB XLV was the highest-attended non Rose Bowl SB in history. No other recent SB venue even comes close to that mark. The SB will be back in DFW in either 2016 or 2017.

At this point, I just don't see many ways around Super Bowl-related events in DFW being spread out. There are too many Metroplex cities that currently have or are building quality events venues. Such as; Las Colinas with it's new convention center and approved $250M entertainment center.

So true, is your statement regarding the owners.

The Super Bowl's possible return has much more to do with Cowboys Stadium having a large seating capacity than anything else. The NFL loves alot of seats with average ticket prices of $4000+. And, all of that $9 beer, $8 nachos, $6 hot dogs, $5 bottles of water.

As long as the host committee has the "North Texas" brand on it the bids will include a significant amount of sprawl in order to placate Dallas and Fort Worth who'll be spending a large majority of the money necessary for a bid to be placed.

Why can't it be Superbowl DFW or Superbowl Metroplex or Superbowl Dallas-Fort Worth. I just hate the whole North Texas thing. It makes it seem like this area has no self identity in its own branding so you have to refer to its geographical location which most people think of the panhandle as North Texas anyway.
