Next Sat, I will take my girlfriend to dallas. Here is the schedule:

- lunch
- go zip lining in Canton
- museum, show, or something.
- romantic dinner
- check in to hotel.

my only problem is I want to find a hotel with a private jacuzzi inside the room.

Which hotels do you guys reccommend? I dont quite know how much is reasonable, so I guess the lowest reasonable cost?

The Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West, Hotel ZaZa, the Joule, Hotel Palomar, and several others all feature private jacuzzi tubs in the more expensive suites.

The ZaZa is gonna have the most va-va voom. If you stay at that Sterling Place I imagine you could also hit up a couple of adult book stores nearby.

Um, not that you asked but that is WAAAAY too much to do in one day. Just to get to Canton & back to the downtown-ish Dallas area is going to be almost a 3 hour drive. Plus, zip lining, where you probably get sweaty....so she will probably want to shower after that. That's easily a 5+ hour "excursion."

Check guidelive.com for museum schedules & exhibits as well as live music. TheatreToo and Theatre3 have relatively affordable live theatre performances if you're interested in that.

Romantic dinner- budget?

Hotel with jacuzzi? - no clue, buddy, but if you don't want a skeezy one, it's going to cost you. I'd look into Hotel Zaza, but bring $$$ (about $300).

He's probably doing it over a weekend... hence the hotel room.

just coming back to this, but I am ditching the jacuzzi idea, and I think that should be fine.

next problem.

going from dallas to canton takes about 1 hour. which is fine. on the way from canton to dallas, I want to have stop midpoin for an activity. As far as I know, I will pass forney, tyler, mesquite. I'm having trouble finding any types of attractions near there.

any suggestions?

Canton is HALFWAY between Dallas and Tyler. You won't be "passing by" Tyler at ALL.

I'd count on more like an hour and a half each way. From hotel to your destination near Canton and back.

Forney, uhm, nothing that I can think of. Some "antique" stores along Hwy 80.

Mesquite, the rodeo. That's IT! But that does not start till June.

So there is a good reason why you are not finding anything exciting going on between Canton and Dallas. There isn't much to stop and see or do.

^ THIS. Canton is more like a 75-90 minute drive from Dallas. There are some two-lane roads in East Texas and you never know what you'll get stuck behind.

Nothing in Forney- it's a bedroom community. Mesquite- nothing worth stopping at. Tyler has the Rose Festival depending on when you'll be in town, but refer to the map below to see where Tyler is in relation to Dallas and Canton. And do you really need a "mid point" activity on a 75-90 minute car ride? You're going to end up spending the whole day in East Texas....why not just stay there instead?

You're just coming to Dallas for 48 hours, right? Why not stay in Dallas and just have fun and not be so "action packed" there......does not sound like a restful getaway weekend!!
