Was just browsing some listings and came across this home. Has anyone here attempted to buy something through an auction like this? How much above the minimum would you expect something like this to go for?

Looks as though this could be an estate auction. DCAD has it at $811K and the condition as "POOR". Based on that and the location and school district........ I'd expect it to go for closer to what DCAD has it at unless there is NO ONE there prepared to purchase it to drive the price up. Only then could it possibly be picked up for the starting bid.

I was actually around that neighborhood and it seems like that house is in bad shape. Proceed if you are expecting a tear down. Good luck.

I was going to say based on recent solds, $600-700k is probably realistic. That would basically be lot value. That is a fairly busy street as you can cross the Tollroad at Bordeaux and 4500 is the block next to the Tollroad. There are better homes out there if you are looking at sub $750k in HPISD.

This home is indeed either a teardown or a total redo. Everything is original in it and the floors are not stable. You don't have to wait until the auction day to make the offer and you may get a better deal so you don't have to pay the 10% commission to the auction house. The owners are accepting offers at this time too.
