My wife works for EDS and we are considering a moving to within a 1/2hr commute of their office in Plano. Seems like Plano, Allen and Frisco all have nice areas aroung the 300K price range. We do not have children, neither one of us are shoppers and we kinda like a small town feel. Any recomendations?

My DH worked within walking distance of EDS and it can take 30 minutes to get through Plano. That said my husband worked near there and it would take him 30 minutes from McKinney (we were near El Dorado and Lake Forrest), when we lived in Frisco (Lebanon and Coit) it was around 10-15 minutes (this was around 1997-99), around 1995-96 we lived on Alma and Spring Creek and that was 30 minutes, and when we lived in Little Elm it was around 45-60 minutes but they were always doing work out there on the roads.

In our experience Frisco PRE-STONEBRIAR was fast, but the lights now (my mom lives near there) can be forever.

If you like the more small town feel, I would recommend Prosper or Celina. They are both within 30 minutes of EDS HQ. Prosper is just up Preston Rd. on the other side of Frisco and Celina is just past prosper. Both nice little towns and since there is growth headed that way, it would be a very wise investment as well.
