Default TxTag or NTTA? Does it matter?

Does it matter?

Say all you drive on is the Dallas North Tollway and occasionally travel into Houston and get on Same Houston and Westpark Tollway (in Houston)

I've always been fine with my TxTag, but it seems as though I see the orange NTTA one around more frequently.

They're interchangeable, aren't they? I don't think it matters which one you have.

The only difference I hear of is NTTA is usable at airports and TxTag is not.

But I'm not 100% on that

it doesn't because they are all supposed to read the others tags--you just have to make sure you go through the right lane in some stations so your tag will be read

Does NTTA cost you less? I know a ZipPass costs more at each tollbooth.

I believe NTTA and TxTags cost less than zip tags, yes.

Most of my coworkers who take the tollway have one of these... I don't know anyone with a zip-pass.

I think a zip-pass is more for rental cars? (just based on what i read briefly now on them ha)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Zippass is for anyone without a toll tag. They will bill you later. All toll roads are cashless in Dallas now.

Right... so if you're using tolls a lot, then you're better off getting a toll tag.

Zip pass is just for the occasional user who doesn't want that tolltag stickered on their car (but if you live in Dallas, I don't see the point in not having a toll tag...)

Ah, oK. I thought Zip Pass was some other type of toll tag, perhaps from another state, that could be used on NTTA roads.

So would a TxTag cost less than an NTTA tag?

from the research ive done since posting this thread, I believe NTTA is the one you can use everywhere INCLUDING airports.

TxTag you cannot use at airports. I know this firsthand where the guy stopped me and I had to pay cash (they took debit luckily)

NTTA is that one with the big T in an orange circle. I think this is the more common one I see around... probably for the airport reason alone. I think they're the same price and same rates at the tolls for either tag... so it doesn't really make sense to me why everyone wouldn't just get NTTA even if they don't go to the airport that much? Whatever I guess...
